Costa Rica Brunca Rivense La Guaca Passion Honey

Located in the beautiful Brunca region, Finca La Guaca is located in a remote coffee-producing region about 150 kilometers southeast of Costa Rica's capital, San Jose, in between two very important mountains, Cerro de la Muerte and Cerro Chirripó (Costa Rica’s highest mountain) at 1600 m.a.s.l..

La Guaca means ‘buried treasure’.

Legend has it that the local Costa Rican aborigines buried some treasure in the land long ago, but it was never found even after Mr Regulo and his wife Isabel Rojas combed through the entire land as they cultivate coffees as a family business for more than three decades. Little did they know, that they have found the true treasure - the Golden Beans that this land is capable to produce.

Additional note on Passion Honey Processing Method:

Passion honey processing method is a refined variation on the honey processing method (coffee fruit is pulped or skinned but dried in the fruit flesh or mucilage). With passion honey coffees, bean drying time is extended to enhance sweetness and fruit flavours, especially the passionfruit-like acidity.
