On the Naming of the Coffee

Here’s a breakdown of this coffee:

Colombia

Colombia, officially the Republic of Colombia, is a country in South America.

Tolima

One of the 32 departments of of Colombia, located in the Andean region, in the center-west of the country.

Finca El Vergel

Finca El Vergel is one of Colombia's oldest single estates, managed today by second generation producers Elias and Shady Bayter with the assistance of their mother Martha.

Rebel Gesha

This Gesha is one of the most demanding coffees to be produced at El Vergel State, located at the highest part of the estate, this varietal was planted based on the soil and climate conditions specifically to promote an extended growth of the cherries to promote higher brix content.

Semi-Washed

Semi washed process is where part of the fruit is removed from the seed, through pulping machinery, washing or fermentation, but there is still some left on the seed during the drying.
