We've got you a natural processed with amazing deep ripe fruit notes from Kindeng Estate, one of the six estates managed by WR Carpenter Estates in the Western Highland Province (WHP); other estates under WR Carpenter includes the famous Sigri, Bunum-Wo, Kudjip, Kigabah, and Aviamp.
All estates under WR Carpenter cultivates only Arabica varieties, especially Typica and Typica hybrids from the well-known Jamaican Blue Mountain rootstock that was cultivated on Blue Mountain Estate in the 1930s.
Being the largest employer in PNG with over 6000 locals, the group of companies is also on a mission to enrich lives in PNG by building a sustainable system of work, education and community. Read more about them here!
On the Naming of the Coffee
At The Crackpots Coffee Roaster, we always try to help beginners and advanced drinkers alike to understand more about coffees. One of our efforts is to explain the various cryptic names of coffees which could be confusing.
Here’s a breakdown of this coffee:

PNG is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, encompassing the eastern half of the New Guinea Island (the other half belongs to Indonesia). |
| WHP | Short form of Western Highland Province, located in the Waghi Valley. It is mainly populated by the Jiwaka people. |
| Arufa |
Arufa is a village in WHP. |
| Kindeng | Kindeng estate is one of the six specialty coffee estates owned by WR Carpenter Group of Companies in PNG. |
| AX Natural |
A/X is a grade according to PNG's own new national grading system. A means the cup is clean, balance with "pronounced body and acidity, [plus] rich and distinct fragrance and aroma." X means the bean sizes are sorted to become more uniform by removing bigger and smaller seeds from the produce. Natural means the coffee is sun-dried in the form of whole cherries. |
