This Kenya Nyeri Ndaroini Factory AB Top Washed is a celebration of vibrant acidity and complex flavor with bright redcurrant notes and juicy apple jam, which then transitions into delicate floral notes of violets before revealing the zesty, sweet tang of tangerine and a lingering finish of soft peach.

The Ndaroini Factory isn't just a processing station; it's a symbol of change and empowerment. Ndaroini means "place of rest" in Swahili, was given by the founding farmers who were tired of traveling long distances; but its true significance lies in a modern-day revolution.

In a move that challenged the traditional cooperative model, the farmers of Ndaroini broke away from the old cooperative practices (they were previously members of the Gikanda Coffee Farmers Co-operative Society) to form their own company in 2019. This bold step was enabled by the support of Trabocca, giving them direct ownership and control over their coffee, allowing them to bypass the old, often-unprofitable, system.

Despite the early uncertainties, including being heavily impacted by COVID-19 soon after their establishment, they eventually became some of the highest-paid coffee farmers in Kenya, thanks to their effort to gain autonomy which allow them to have better infrastructure, faster adaptations to better farming practices (thus higher yields), and most importantly - a palpable sense of pride among the community.
