Ethiopian coffees have always been the apple of many eyes for their exquisite fruitiness and unforgettable aromas; it is even more so when the coffee is from the farm that could produce coffees worthy of the regional champion title in 2019 Taste of Harvest competition!

Fruity and floral, this batch of Buku Sayisa reminds us of everything purplish from blueberries to grapes to violet flowers. In line with our tagline #coffeewithcharacter, our roast profile for this coffee lean towards the lighter roast level to keep the coffee characters intact.

Additional Background of Buku Sayisa

The Sayisa village sustains as many as 430 small lot holders with their own mini-farms. During the harvest season, their coffees are sent to the nearby washing station called Buku (which also processed various amazing coffees such as Buku Abel), owned by METAD. Under the management of METAD, the Buku Washing Station adopts strict quality control protocols in every processing phase to ensure consistent delivery.

Apart from the dedication to produce quality coffees, METAD has also extended their community care by adopting an entire school of more than 400 students in Hambela, providing the students with uniforms, benches, tables, and even teachers’ salaries. As of now, they are working on drilling a water-supplying well for the school and the Hambela community.
