On the Naming of the Coffee

At The Crackpots Coffee Roaster, we always try to help beginners and advanced drinkers alike to understand more about coffees. One of our efforts is to explain the various cryptic names of coffees which could be confusing.

Here’s a breakdown of this coffee:

Colombia

Officially called the Republic of Colombia, it is third largest coffee exporter of the world after Brazil and Vietnam.

Nariño

Nariño is a department of Colombia named after independence leader Antonio Nariño.

Small Farmers Selections

This coffee is sourced from small lot farmers who farms at an average elevation of 1600-1800m in comparison to others at lower elevation. As a result, this coffee has a bright acidity as well as sweetness.

Supremo

The name Supremo comes from the screen size of the bean. Supremo beans are slightly larger compared to Excelso, Extra, and Pasilla beans (in decreasing order).
